What is a Computer Network?

Take a look at your computer.  Are you working on a laptop or a desktop computer right now?  If you are on a laptop, more than likely your computer has a built in antenna that is allowing you to connect to the internet.  If you are on a desktop, take a moment and look at the back of your computer.  You should see a power cable going into the wall, and probably another cable that is your connection to your school or home network.  This wireless or cable connection is part of your local area network (LAN).  Your LAN is connected to a wide area network (WAN) that you know as the internet.
