Module 1:

What is "Computer Literacy"?

Are you ready for an online class?  In this fast-paced, 7-week course, we will take you through fun activities so you can show us mastery as we go along.  Let us see what you already know, so we can figure out who is in the class and what things you might have already done.

In this course, we will have a chance to explore what ‘computer literacy’ really is in today’s world.  There are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answers; merely ideas we can explore together.  Each week activities and evidence of your work will be posted online.  Please provide feedback for each other, and remember to keep things professional.  We want to improve, and appreciate ‘constructive feedback’ that allows for 1) kudos of what we did well, 2) suggestions for ways to improve.

Each week you will read through the ‘Hook’ and then take the pre-assessment to see what you already know.  If you master the pre-assessment, you will not be required to do the work, but you must prove you really know the stuff through a live interview with the instructor.

This course is also meant to help you understand what ‘success’ means in college and beyond.  You need to be able to manage your time, resources, and turn in
